I can’t tell you the number of times I have been asked what the best “fat-burner” is to take during my time in the fitness field. I always have the same answer to the question as well, which is “none!” People seem so taken aback by this that they don’t understand why I would not recommend a product with so many “testimonials.” I mean, people wouldn’t lie to endorse something, would they? And the beat goes on…
Back in the day, there was GNC and not much else when it came to supplementation. I’m not so sure “supplementation or supplements” was common nomenclature back at that point compared to say, “vitamins or nutrition” when referring to these various powders, pills, etc… Supplementing with something means making up for what could be deemed as a deficit or “lacking in something.” It is really a “judgment” call short of having regular blood tests which no one should be getting within this medical nightmare landscape we live in.
When truly lacking in some type of mineral or vitamin, the body will exhibit some form of “negative” response to this state of being. Only at this point should one even consider “supplementation” with said mineral, vitamin, etc. An approach such as this is the proper method of isolating one variable, said mineral, vitamin, or hormone, and then seeing what happens when it is introduced into the body at a said dosage deemed appropriate to make up for the deficiency present.
A huge problem with supplementation is the number of ingredients in each product. How can you know which single vitamin, mineral, etc. pulled you out of your negative physical state? You can’t! That is the facts. It is also a fact that most of the time the manufacturer will not even post the amount of each ingredient as it is, of course, a “trade secret.” There is no way I promise that someone has come up with a magic combination with any product to cure what ails you. Manufacturers are simply adding more ingredients to hike prices up on what is more than likely a very cheap single ingredient that has shown to have positive results in testing. So, why not just research what is the most widely used single ingredient in testing to pull you out of your deficiency? That would make sense, right?
Back in the good ole days of early “supplementation,” most products worked very well I want to add. I mean nowadays things are meant to only work so well before you need more or must replace them. Appliances, car parts, clothing, and the list goes on! This is no different than having to take a “stack” or multiple products from the same manufacturer to get the desired result! Give me a break folks! This is idiocy. By the way, if an unregulated supplement ever works better than its pharmaceutical counterpart, then you bet your ass the powers that be will have it banned in a hurry to “protect” their own financial interests.
If I had a dollar for every time, I heard someone say that CBD “snake-oil” has improved their health I would be rich! This is a perfect example of an absolute shit “supplement” that is simply the leftover by-product of something that actually works. They have been tossing it away for years so what better to do with this than charge more for it than the actual “active” plant itself. You could quite literally get yourself a dime a “quarter bag” of weed and it will have a thousands more time more efficacy than this bullshit snake oil ever will. I will go so far as to say CBD doesn’t have any effect on most than a placebo! This specific product had to be included as it is the latest in a long line of examples of something that has turned from “waste” to a multi-billion-dollar business thanks to nefarious marketing schemes! Just buy some weed for crying out loud. This is unbelievable honestly.
Using critical thinking skills to determine what is best in life is not so easy for most. We live in a world where celebrities, doctors, “influencers” for God’s sake, are the be-all-end-all, of gospel-like recommendations! Who in the fuck died and made these people an “authority” on anything? Please explain! Wake up people, it is about money and that’s it. It isn’t about looking out for your best interests; I promise you that. If it was, many people would be recommending what is free or essentially free to improve your life everywhere you look. This is not the case! This is classic Edward Bernays psychological manipulation aimed at persuading you in some way shape or form to make a damn purchase! That is it!
Time after time, I have recommended a simple formula to limit needless spending and live a healthy life. When these four pillars are followed consistently and accurately most will see many health “issues” completely disappear!
The formula is the following:
25% Proper rest or sleep
25% Proper diet or not overconsumption
25% Cardiovascular training
25% Resistance training
If one sticks to this regimen, and still exhibits some form of physical “ailment” then and only then should they consider any type of single supplementation that can be isolated and thoroughly tested for efficacy! Nothing at all in terms of costs is incurred by practicing the above guidelines short of what you purchase for consumption. No gym is necessary, just your body and some forming of new habits if necessary to stay on track.
In closing what is essentially throwing money at a problem instead of methodically isolating variables is always going to be detrimental to your finances and mental health. It is simply laziness and lethargy to not practice what is minimal in achieving proper health and well-being, but instead throw the “kitchen sink” at any problem thinking it will solve your problems in life. You must be smarter than that, but the powers that be are counting on you never figuring it out. This perpetual cycle of various forms of propaganda then herd action is not limited to simple-minded political theatre, no! It is present in your purchasing decisions as well as in many other facets of life! The next time Dr. Quackenstein or Dr. Sghetti recommend a product that makes laughable claims, remember that they are laughing all the way to the bank. Bernays literally wrote the book on Propaganda and the “system” is counting on you not using critical thinking so they can rob you of not just your money but your time as well!
