Have you ever been doing something and said to yourself, “shit I needed to take care of this other thing instead?” I’m sure you have. We all have for that matter. Do you want to know what really frosts my balls though? When people keep ignoring that nagging feeling or make some shitty excuses to avoid such priorities! I highly recommend taking a trip back in time and visiting one of my early posts called No Excuses. It is going to be relevant to the material here.
So yeah, I have recently come under scrutiny for my berating of the typical American lifestyle. You know, eating all the fucking time while accepting the body image results from such gluttonous activity. Let me ask you this, if someone can’t look after their own health then what else will they neglect? It says a lot about someone.
Well, I have to say that is a major problem in this country first off. Body acceptance has become nothing but a virus consuming most who will ride the PC train. Yeah, I mean don’t say anything to help someone and their declining health because they may get butt hurt about it. Sounds good. Maybe they will end up in the hospital for some illness or chronic disease because everyone was so “nice” they didn’t want to say something about it.
This PC behavior is nothing short of abuse. It’s called being an enabler and helping someone into a bad situation because you didn’t want to speak up. But since we live in upside down clown world people think it is abusive to call out negative behaviors that are accepted by the masses. Growing up as a personal trainer I am honest to a fault. That is not going to change anytime soon either. I’m sure I have helped more people by being honest than a dozen of your average PC Americans have. This shit social behavioral norm has got to go folks.
I also want to add the fact that just because my number one priority is my health and fitness it doesn’t mean that I’m overly obsessed about it. In fact, without your health, you don’t have shit. If you’re ill or in a chronic state of inflammation you will incur more medical bills and become a burden on others not from chance but from choice! Is it not selfish to eat yourself into illness while not having a fitness regimen? Come on… Now maybe I want my body fat lower than the average person because I like the way it looks. So, what. I can still eat and drink whatever I want, just in smaller portions. Hell, I can even indulge heavily at times.
Being a bit of a nihilist as of late I have to say this can get someone down. Fear not though because you can and will find others on your same wavelength. Maybe it is someone who comes from a background where they also had to look a certain way and were healthier because of it. Just because the average nitwit thinks it’s an obsession and puts outlandish “expectations” upon others doesn’t mean anything. It just means they don’t want to work as hard to achieve the same level of results! It is that simple. Suffice to say most of this hate comes from someone else’s own insecurities. You can imagine how insecurities breed tons of hate projection. The lazy and lethargic will always be around to haunt you if you work hard at most activities you engage in.
In closing, it goes without saying that your health should be your number one priority. Without it, you aren’t doing a damn thing anyways. To what level you want to take that endeavor is up to you. If you think losing say 20 pounds in a year is fine, then do it that way. It won’t go very well but that is up to you and your decision. Working out the right way has never been easy. If it was everyone would be walking around looking sexy! It is hard work and there will always be excuses. What is your excuse going to be today?
This had to be included because this is the typical perception of people who love to look great. What a great movie!
Working as a RN for several years in the critical care setting, it is frightening to see where poor eating choices and exercise choices can help lead you. People die every day. We aren’t engineered to live forever. But, wouldn’t it be nice to enjoy our life for as long as possible while continuing to make healthy lifestyle choices? I think so. Maybe it can stop or slow down disease process; it would be nice to test this theory. Wouldn’t it? Great post!!
