In our PC culture, one thing has completely deluded the mind of those overweight, acceptance. “Be a better person, just accept them for who they are.” I mean, yeah if I didn’t give a shit about their well-being and was a self-serving prick maybe I would. I’ve grown sick and tired of all the PC bullshit out there today.
Walking into my daily eats Chipotle, I wouldn’t say I was floored, but disappointed with the number of obese folks in there. I mean it’s Chipotle a fairly healthy place to eat. Fitness freaks, bodybuilders, and sport’s athletes, right? You’ve seen the ads and Youtube vids. I would say it was 80% filled with obese customers. You’ve seen it, heavy people shuffling around like they are extras in the Walking Dead series. It’s downright ridiculous! We won’t even start with Wal-Martian memes.
Ever wonder why American portions are so damn huge? I know I have. I bargain to say it’s just another engineered scheme of those at the top. I mean c’mon, if you feel like shit from being obese, you are more likely to go to work like a good serf then afterward come home beat tired and consume! Not ever thinking about much else. Oh yeah, that’s when you’re not at the doctor’s office being seen for whatever ailments you have that week. Chasing a damn ghost when the culprit was there all along, poor lifestyle choices regarding the physical affecting the mental! Poor diet, poor sleep, and no fitness routine. This shit is real folks and I’ve seen it a thousand times in the fitness field.
While we are on portions, I challenge you to try a kid’s meal the next time you go out to eat. I have used this tactic for the better part of the last two decades or more. It allows me to usually get a drink included as well for a great price! I would say the normal kid’s meal should be around 600 calories which is plenty. Now, imagine the caloric content of the regular “adult” portion meal they are offering! You could be looking at more than 1000 calories or more! Scary stuff. Not great, not great at all. You really need to watch what you are eating and drinking.
This brings me to my next point, drinks. No, I’m not talking about your martini shaken, not stirred, Lush Bond. Although we will get to alcohol in another post I promise. That shit is like ingesting poison while eating candy bars! Yeah, super good for you, right? Anyways, when you are out or at home it is a good idea to try water, tea, or a diet beverage. You have been brainwashed to think diet beverages are horrible for you when in fact a small ass can of soda is around 30 grams of sugar or more! “Yeah, give me the diet, please!” See what happens when you drink around 4 cans of regular soda per day for around a decade. That alone would likely add around 20lbs. of fat while becoming diabetic! Mmmmm, healthy. It’s time to wake up and quit doing what “feels” good. Quit being such a soft wad of gelatinous slime! It’s always what is comfortable that has us looking and feeling like shit isn’t it? Oh yeah, I forgot about how it made you “feel,” well too bad. I’m trying to look out for your health and well-being. I’m not politically correct and I don’t care about your feelings.
I’ve talked to many friends and family about the importance of moving your body daily. Most enjoy a movie or video so why not do that while taking a brisk walk? That at the very minimum should be happening on a daily or every other day basis. Let’s not forget about the red-headed stepchild of health and fitness, resistance training! I’ve heard it all, “I don’t want big muscles,” etc. Excuses, excuses. Go to your local superstore and grab a pack of latex bands. Then, watch some videos and learn how to use them for some resistance training. That is a start! You have to change body composition and can’t do that without consistent resistance training. You don’t want to be a weakling, do you?
This was just a short post to get the gears turning for those that need a good kick in the ass. I promise there will be more chastising to come in the near future. It won’t stop and it must not stop. We are a sick and tired society who can’t grow to be active healthy adults anymore. We are living in hospitals, and nursing homes. Making the medical-industrial complex more money than ever before. This must stop! I didn’t even bother to bring up the staggering mental health issues that arise from being obese. Sure, you see the PC acceptance out there but when that person is alone looking in the mirror, do they still feel happy with the reflection? You and you alone are responsible for your well-being. Trust me, you think friends and family are going to whisper, “Hey I think you’re becoming an unhealthy whale.”? Nobody, wants to rock the boat, you know what I’m saying?
