At the height of transforming into the dystopian shit hole, we are currently in I thought people were crazy to mention defunding law enforcement. Then I started to think about the actual current state of affairs in regard to recent law enforcement screw-ups. “Accidental” shootings resulting in the death of innocent people, people locked up for minor drug offenses, swatting the wrong house, arrests for not wearing a mask, illegal seizures of cash, and other egregious acts.
Friends, you have to ask yourself what is going on when people are actually being arrested for not wearing a mask in public? What kind of person backs this tyrannical rule of law? If you don’t agree this is a problem, then you need to seek mental help! We need some type of damn reform and it’s needed now.
“To serve and protect,” that’s the motto, right? Have you ever asked for whom are they serving or protecting? Well, I have the answer for you. They serve the State, and they protect said State’s laws. I know, I know, but they come to the rescue and save everyone when they are in trouble! If some crumb breaks into your house, you do what? Hide and call 911. Hope they don’t find you and kick the door in by the time the cavalry shows up. That is why self-reliance and personal protection will be an important subject to cover in future articles. You need to be able to protect yourself at a moment’s notice!
Having thought about this quite a bit, may I put forward the following ideas for a better law enforcement structure.
One major problem in everyday life is traffic. Crazy drivers not following safety guidelines and laws are a major cause of death and injury. I would say that a department of road-patrol law enforcement makes sense. These officers would stop and ticket those not following traffic laws. They would also respond and call necessary emergency personnel when accidents occur. What these officers would not do is stop you for a traffic violation and then perform an untimely search and seizure! This is illegal in many stops but goes completely under the radar because those citizens involved don’t want to push for court cases against law enforcement. This leads me into the next branch that should be within the law enforcement structure.
You ever heard of a cold case? Well, they are a dime a dozen friends. This is one ugly situation when a family doesn’t get closure because law enforcement doesn’t have enough time or resources to keep chasing the answers to a case that has stumped them. Let me give you an example. I had a friend that got into the drug scene. This started by hanging out with you guessed it, some not-so-great people. Shocker, right? Well, this friend overdosed on a pill that was for sure not supposed to be as potent as it was. Dead, gone to this world! This happened twice, two different friends might I add! Do you think there was so much as an investigation into where the drug came from or who might be next to swallow one and pass away? Nope, nothing. What should have taken place was a search for the origin of the pills through the individual that sold the pill to the friend. If anything, that is involuntary manslaughter at best! With a laundry list of other charges. My guess is that there wasn’t enough time and personnel to chase it all down. Very tragic.
I would encourage departments to transition most patrol officers into the detective branch. You would have traffic and detective branches making up the bulk of the whole department. This would allow for way more detectives to solve cases and get closure as it should be. These detectives could easily respond to domestics, etc., and take their own notes for future reference. It would be much like the regular patrol officers we see now but more specialized. Specialization is what is necessary to do the job right! Enough with the mishaps and trying to be a jack of all trades, patrolman!
Lastly, we get to the special response units. This would be highly trained small units of officers skilled in hostage rescue, active shooter response, and other various interdiction activities. Obviously, some acts would be performed based on detective work a majority of the time. Others, based on citizen call-in emergencies. There are other positions involved in a law enforcement department but these make up the bulk of the operational personnel.
I have had many friends in law enforcement careers that were genuinely good people. The problem is that they have to do some things they don’t agree with. This is with any job, take the good with the bad or leave. But I will say that Police and other law enforcement agencies’ overreach is a major problem along with the mistakes. Reform can get us there, but I see the average patrolman at the heart of most unfortunate mistakes these days. This has to be fixed. Sure, training costs money, but how much money is being pissed away already from the state and county? A lot.
I hope in closing this has got you thinking about current events and how our law enforcement can be better through reform. Remember, if you get pulled over you do not have to consent for an officer to search your car. That is your right under the law. Nothing to hide, I understand but the whole “nothing to hide” has allowed too many things to intercede in our private business throughout history to the point of not really having privacy in this present day. It’s usually innocence that sometimes leads to getting hurt. Remember that statement!
I am linking this video for some shock value just in case you thought I was full of absolute shit. I know this channel has tons of situations to make your hair stand up, but this should do for now. Enjoy.
